Structure: Top of Funnel Talent service contracts (also referred to as “quarter search”) require prospective clients go through a free 30-minute intro call to determine qualification and project scope, after which we’ll provide you with a custom proposal.

(2) “Half-Search”

Overview: As an early-stage founder who’s unable (or unwilling) to allocate the budget for our full-service offering, you may be offered the opportunity for our team to deliver the first 50% of the executive search workflow (arguably the hardest and most important part), leaving the back-half to you and your team to complete. This includes everything in the full-service up to the point of delivering you with a robust slate and scheduling your chosen candidates for their first interview. This type of structure works great if you’ve already got a proven internal recruiting workflow where all you. need are enough of the right people in your funnel and you’re confident you can get the right person over the line to join your team.

Structure: Half-Search service contracts require prospective clients go through a free 30-minute intro call to determine qualification and project scope, after which we’ll provide you with a custom proposal.

Outcome: You’ll get a deeply vetted slate of 5+ qualified, interested, and available candidates containing at least 2 interview-worthy candidates (or 1 you hire) within ≤ 21 days of search commencement, or we'll refund your engagement fee.

Growth-Stage Services

(Series A, B, or C funded startups with 25 to ~250 people)

Executive Search (Senior GTM & C-Level Roles)

Overview: Most companies find it relatively straightforward to grow their team from 0 to ~25 people, which is about the time when most founders hit the “hiring wall”. This is when most companies need help building out their executive leadership team by pulling talent out of slightly larger, high-growth companies who have the startup experience and functional expertise to repeat their success in your company.

Structure: Traditional full-service retained search engagements carry a fee of 33% of the placed candidates’ total first-year compensation. Most of the larger established firms won’t care to take on a search that carries a fee of less than $80,000 USD. If they do, it’ll usually involve delegating the work to their more junior team. You’ll then have to pay the first 1/3rd of the fee up front to kick things off, another 1/3rd of the fee 30 days later (or upon acceptance of a short-list), and the final 1/3rd of the fee at the 60 day mark, often regardless of whether the search ends up being successful. Additionally, some firms charge additional expenses to cover things such as travel costs, software or database access fees, and administrative costs. However, this is NOT how Bearhug does business.

Instead, in the majority of cases, we provide you with a custom fixed-fee quote based on (1) the complexity of your requirement (2) your expectations and timeline, and (3) our availability to prioritize your search (each partner only works on 2-3 searches at any given time).

We’re also able to work faster AND produce the same if not better outcomes than our larger competitors at a lesser cost, because we keep our overhead low. Plus, the person selling you the service will always be the one executing the entirety of the workflow. This more modern structure ensures incentives are aligned from the start (so you’re not just seeing the most expensive candidates) and guarantees you’ll get more speed, quality, and value for your much smaller investment.

Outcome: If you do your part, you’ll get an A-Player signed onto your team within ~45 days (+/- 15).

Investment: Director to C-Level Search projects range from $60,000 to $120,000

Instead of following the crowd, consider creating a piece of collateral that will truly inspire and get targeted passive A-player candidates to engage—those who are not actively looking for a job but would be interested if they were approached and pitched in this unique way. This approach automatically filters out less suitable candidates and attracts the right top talent uniquely qualified, interested, and available to achieve the first-year outcomes you’ve pre-established for each senior level role.

Overview: In addition to our traditional search fee for each placement, Bearhug Recruiting offers an alternative solution: we can serve as your Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) engine, managing some or all of your hiring needs for a set monthly retainer.

Investment: This option is ideal for unique situations and requires an exploratory call to determine suitability after which we’ll provide you with a custom quote.
